Great session tonight with Worldwise Samba Drummers. A few drummers have joined and sounded great.  People seemed to have enjoyed the videos Dad recorded at the weekend.

Also went to the Gujarat Hindu Society last night to observe a lecture which also included my Tabla teacher playing Harmonium alongside a tabla player. The person running the session (priest? Preacher? Guru?) seemed full of life, although he was speaking Gujurati so I had no idea what was being said.

Worldwise Samba Drummers

Lytham Kite Festival Gig
Yesterday i had the joy of playing with the Worldwise Samba Drummers in Preston City Centre. A great bunch of drummers with a set that is getting tighter and tighter. I've been playing with the WWSD for about a year now and I'm loving it.

Here's yesterday's setlist - follow the links to hear the pieces:

IJEXA
OYA
AGURE
Old Samba Funk
Bossa/ Samba/ New Samba Funk
Drum and Bass
Call & Response
Poverty Knock

I normally play Caixa with the band, although I've stood in for Jon Aveyard on one occasion and done the calling. Here's a couple of pictures from that day. We were playing at Avenham Parks annual Chinese Kite Festival.
