I started my exploration of rhythm by starting to play the drum kit when I was 15. I've played in various bands of including rock, punk, metal, folk and improvised jazz. I am currently interested in world music. I am part of a Samba drumming ensemble called Worldwise Samba Drummers, playing afro- brazillian rhythms. I am also exploring the introspective world of the Indian Tabla which is just fascinating.

Great session tonight with Worldwise Samba Drummers. A few drummers have joined and sounded great. People seemed to have enjoyed the videos Dad recorded at the weekend.
Also went to the Gujarat Hindu Society last night to observe a lecture which also included my Tabla teacher playing Harmonium alongside a tabla player. The person running the session (priest? Preacher? Guru?) seemed full of life, although he was speaking Gujurati so I had no idea what was being said.
